
Saturday, August 28th, from 10 am to 3 pm, Gateway to Science and Beth Demke, our Executive Director will join the St. Alexius Community Wide Awareness Event “The Brain Train”. This event will take place at the North Dakota State Capitol. The Brain Train will raise awareness about various brain disorders and diseases through fun activities for the whole family. Some of the scheduled activities are: Community awareness walk , Educational exhibits, Geocache (GPS Treasure Hunt), Entertainment, Food, Fun, And much more! This event will include a walk to recognize friends, family or even your own battle with any of the following neurological diseases and disorders: Stroke – Parkinson’s Disease – Alzheimer’s Disease – Multiple Sclerosis – Epilepsy – Fibromyalgia – Autism – Mental Health – Muscular Dystrophy – Pain Disorders – Cerebral Palsy – And Others!
Gateway to Science’s “Brain Matters-Use your Brain” Exhibit will be featured at this event. Look for a real brain and several brain teaser puzzles. Organizations and associations that will be participating are: The American Heart Association, North Dakota Department of Health, Alzheimer’s Association, and the American Stroke Association.
