Free Public Presentation by Visiting Scientist

The Visiting Scientist Series is excited to welcome Dr. Robert Bates, professor emeritus of Food Science at the University of Florida, to Bismarck. Dr. Bates is an expert on the science of brewing and will be presenting a FREE public presentation this Thursday at Bismarck State College – National Energy Center of Excellence in the Basin Electric Auditorium Room 304 (1200 Schafer Street). The topic will be “The Chemistry and Alchemy of Brewing” and the presentation will start at 7 pm. While he is in Bismarck, Dr. Bates will also be presenting on the science of food at the University of Mary and local high schools. He is also considered an oenologist, or expert in the study of wine making, and he will be appearing at Gateway to Science as a special guest at Einstein on Wine this Friday (it’s not too late to get tickets!).
