Growing Food in Antarctica

By

Have you ever wondered about exploring Antarctica? Or how scientists at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station have enough food to last the long, harsh winters? Or maybe you just watched Frozen Planet and want to know more. Tuesday, May 1, 7 pm, at Bismarck State College’s NECE Basin Electric Auditorium, 1200 Schafer Street, is your chance! Join the Visiting Scientists Series and Bismarck native Jon Rask, a Research Scientist in the Space Biosciences Division at the NASA Ames Research Center, for a FREE public presentation to learn about “Growing Food in the South Pole Greenhouse, Antarctica,” life at the South Pole, and how NASA can use the Station and Greenhouse as a planetary analog for space exploration.
