The theme for Science Discovery Club is “The Solar System,” and Young Scientists Club will focus on Famous Scientists.

Join us at Gateway to Science on Saturdays from 10:30AM-11:30AM for an exciting time of discovery with your preschooler. Preschool Discovery Hour is for children ages 3 years – Kindergarten and a parent or other favorite adult.

Each week a new activity is presented, so come when you can and don’t worry when you can’t! No preregistration is required.

We offer the option of paying $7.00 each time you attend or buying a punch card for $30.00 (valid for five uses). Punch cards allow you the flexibility to attend when you are available and are discounted from the weekly rate. You may purchase a punch card online and we will hold it for you at the Gateway to Science office. Adults may bring up to two children to Preschool Discovery Hour. Each child will be charged separately.

Gateway to Science is located in the Frances Leach High Prairie Arts and Science Complex, 1810 Schafer Street, Bismarck.

If you look at the home button on the top left of every page on our website, go two tabs to the right and you will find Camps & Programs! The tab itself has some general information, but more specific information can be found in the drop-down list found if you hover your mouse over the tab. The first drop-down is for Preschool Discovery Hour, our program designed for children ages 3 through Kindergarten and the adults in their lives. The second drop-down is for potential program instructors, whether they are formal educators or not, who would like information about working with us to provide science programs to children in our community. The next drop-down is about the science clubs we offer, which are currently available for 1st-6th graders. The last drop-down has information about scholarships to participate in Gateway to Science programs, including the application form and guidelines for applying. We also add information about summer camps under this tab when it is time for students to register and attend.

As you can see, there is a lot of information in this area of our website! So check it out, and as always, contact us if you have any questions.

We will be closing our gallery EARLY at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 23. The gallery and office will both be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day. On Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26, our gallery will be open regular hours from noon to 5 pm, but the office will be closed.

Also to accomodate the Thanksgiving holiday, Preschool Discovery Hour will not meet this Wednesday, November 23, or Saturday, November 26. If you are looking for something fun to do on Friday or Saturday between eating, shopping, games, or whatever else you have planned, bring your friends and family to Gateway to Science!

The program begins at 10:30 a.m. and runs until 11:30 a.m. for children ages 3 thru Kindergarten and their favorite adult companion. Cost is $7 per session, or you can purchase a punch card for 5 sessions for $30. Punch cards can be purchased online or on the morning of the program.

Preschool Discovery Hour is held weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Bring your child to these programs for fun stories, age-appropriate activities and games to help children learn about things going on in their world. Come and touch the science!

This hands-on learning time is designed for children ages 3 through Kindergarten to do with a parent or other favorite adult. Preschool Discovery Hour will meet on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:30 am at the Frances Leach High Prairie Arts & Science Complex.

This fall, Preschool Discovery Hour will be a week-to-week program, and both sessions will be the same each week, so you can pick the day that works best for you. You can pay for each session as you attend, or take advantage of the new punch card program, which allows you to pay for multiple sessions at a discounted rate, but still have the flexibility to choose which day or week you come. Punch cards can be purchased online.

This one-week camp is offered by the partners in the Frances Leach High Prairie Arts & Science Complex with full and half-day options for the week of August 8-12. Students entering grades K-6 will experience a variety of hands-on arts and science activities throughout each day, but you must register by Friday, July 29, to receive an early bird discount!
