More than 1,500 museums, science centers, planetariums, zoos and other attractions across the country will be opening their doors for free as part of Smithsonian magazine’s seventh annual Museum Day. And Gateway to Science will be a part of this grand event!
Have you ever wondered how fast do you have to pedal a bicycle to power your television? This is one of the many exhibits at Gateway to Science that visitors can experience for free during Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day.
Sometimes admission prices can prevent families from visiting a museum, a science center, or other cultural institutions nationwide; we want to give everyone the opportunity to visit Gateway to Science-The Only Hands-on Science Center in North Dakota.
Last year, more than 300,000 people took advantage of the Smithsonian’s free offer. This year, organizers expect to top that by at least 20 percent.
While museums count on revenue brought in by paying customers and memberships, free admission can be priceless.
There may be a museum, or a science center, that you’ve always been curious about, but that admission price has kept you away because you’re just not sure you’ll like what’s inside. Museum Day would definitely be the day to go.
