The Sound of Science
On Saturday, June 5th, Gateway to Science hosted our newest event, The Sound of Science. Over 60 adults and children attended this free family event, including 3 families from out town! They all had the opportunity to participate in all the eleven activities and to be part of a great, healthy, and musical afternoon. Gateway to Science gave away a $10.00 off coupon towards a family plus membership. The coupon was awarded via email on June 7th by our Executive Director.
The event was held at the High Prairie Arts and Science Complex. The stations were set up on Friday by our great staff. Christie our Program Coordinator designed and assemble eleven different activities that introduced the public to sound, such as:” How a toy slinky can help us learn about sound waves!”; “How to make clanking spoons sound like beautiful bells! ” “Create a bassoon that actually makes music!”; “Listen through your teeth!”…..AND MUCH MORE!
The following link is an interview aired on KXMB-TV about the Sound of Science.
