DESCRIPTION:We are hosting our first adult (18+) programming event on January 27th from 6:00-8:30 PM! Damon Williams will be presenting all things astronomy and will then take us outside on our scenic deck to observe the stars! DESCRIPTION:The mission of our STEM Adventure Club is to spark an interest in future scientific curiosity for children in grades 1 – 5 and to fascinate them with the wonders of scientific discovery. North Dakota’s Gateway to Science believes that children should to be exposed to the exciting fields of science at an early age with fun and engaging hands-on experiments\, activities\, and games that are accompanied by age-appropriate information on specific science topics. Our goal is to engage children in an educational science adventure that lasts a lifetime! \nSTEM Adventure Club for grades 1 – 5 meets on Mondays from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm at North Dakota’s Gateway to Science\, 1600 Canary Avenue. \nRegistration for each 6-week session is $75 for Gateway to Science members; $90 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:Gateway to Play is in participation with Our World: Worldwide Day of Play\, a global play event presented by Nickelodeon and the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM). Join us on September 30\, from 1-4 p.m. during your visit for additional hands-on playful learning activities held in our Innovation Space. Admission is required. \n“Play is a powerful experience that enriches people’s lives in museums\, schools\, homes\, and beyond\,” states Arthur G. Affleck\, III\, executive director of the Association of Children’s Museums. “ACM is pleased to partner with Nickelodeon on amplifying the importance of play on wellbeing and healthy brain development and to make learning more effective and joyful for everyone. As children’s museums\, we believe in the power of play and we strive to nurture more play and playful learning everywhere we go.” \nOur World: Worldwide Day of Play is part of Nickelodeon’s Our World global initiative to inspire kids and provide them with tools to activate their individual and collective agency. Here at North Dakota’s Gateway to Science\, we are a vital collaborator in the Our World: Worldwide Day of Play\, as part of a network of more than 300 ACM member children’s museums that reach millions of families in North America\, and more than 1\,000 museums participating in Museums for All\, a national access initiative that ACM manages. \nWe look forward to seeing you and your little learners at Gateway to Play for hands-on playful learning!
