DESCRIPTION:We are hosting our first adult (18+) programming event on January 27th from 6:00-8:30 PM! Damon Williams will be presenting all things astronomy and will then take us outside on our scenic deck to observe the stars! While the telescopes are open for viewing\, the gallery will be open for adult-centered exploration time. Tickets for the event will be $25 and will only be available for the first 50 people who register! (minimum registration to hold the event is 20) Hot cocoa will be provided by 3&Me to keep us warm outside!

You’ll even learn how to be prepared for severe weather and interpret Watches and Warnings!\n\nPresenter Info\nJohn Paul (JP) Martin is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) in Bismarck\, North Dakota. JP is responsible for managing decision support services to government agencies\, managing all outreach educational training to the public and other special interest groups\, and quality assuring NWS products and services. He works directly with emergency management agencies on promoting severe weather education and providing on-site decision support services to local\, county\, state\, tribal\, and federal officials during times of severe weather and disaster. This is done partly through the StormReady and Weather-Ready Nation initiatives.

DESCRIPTION:North Dakota’s Gateway to Science has teamed up with MDU Resources and the Bismarck Larks to bring STEM education (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Math) to the baseball field. Together\, we understand the importance of equipping youth with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems\, gather and evaluate evidence\, and comprehend information. This year North Dakota’s Gateway to Science is celebrating 30 years\, MDU Resources is celebrating 100 years\, and the Bismarck Larks are celebrating 8 years!\n\nThe FREE-to-attend STEM Expo is a hands-on and educational opportunity for kids of all ages to learn\, interact and participate in science\, technology\, engineering and math activities and demonstrations. There will be 2 live science experiments that happen at 4 different times at the FREE Kids STEM Expo. Experiment A will happen at 10:30 am and 12 pm. Experiment B will happen at 11:15 am and 12:45 pm.\n\nThe first 350 kids that show up will get a special goodie bag. Get there early\, these ran out last year with over 500 kids attending
