Each year, Gateway to Science takes part in the Blue Star Museums program which offers free admission to all active duty military personnel and their immediate family members from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The free admission program is available to any bearer of Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card and up to five family members.

The Visiting Scientists Series (VSS) was established to inspire and educate young people and the public about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
VSS showcases scientists working in a variety of fields, with the intent to reach a diverse audience and to inspire local students to consider careers in science.
VSS also provides resources for educators, educates members of technical organizations, and informs the community on science and technical issues.
