Kristie Petersen

As the Events and Operations Manager, Kristie ensures every gathering is welcoming, well-organized, and memorable. She oversees facility rentals, including contracts, coordination, and day-of logistics. She leads the event team in fostering an atmosphere that reflects the mission of NDGTS.

Kristie helps to create events that leave a lasting impression on every guest. She focuses on warm hospitality, clear communication, and experiences designed to meet the needs of visitors and clients. Her work strengthens community connections, supports the growth of our programming, and provides spaces where visitors can learn, celebrate, and connect. 

With a thoughtful and attentive approach, Kristie strives to create events that feel seamless for guests and impactful for the organization.

Experience and Expertise

Kristie is a graduate of the Bismarck State College Hotel Restaurant Management program and brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She has worked with a wide range of customers in roles such as cook, manager, and caterer, giving her deep insight into customer service and event operations. 

Her background has taught her to be observant, to listen closely to what guests need, and to offer thoughtful recommendations when appropriate. Kristie values genuine conversation and believes that building rapport with guests goes a long way in creating successful events. 

Outside of NDGTS  

Outside of work, Kristie enjoys crafting, spending time with family, watching her grandkids play hockey, and camping during the summer months. 

Favorite Exhibit, Event, or Experiment 

Kristie enjoys all the events hosted at NDGTS, but her favorite is the museum’s very own Einstein on Wine. It embodies the energy, teamwork, and community spirit that make her role so rewarding.
