Lisa Engelstad serves as Public Engagement Director at North Dakota’s Gateway to Science, where she leads marketing strategy and helps build meaningful corporate and community partnerships that advance the organization’s mission.

A longtime Bismarck resident, Lisa is passionate about connecting organizations with their communities and creating opportunities for people to engage with causes that make a difference. At Gateway to Science, she enjoys finding new ways to share the impact of STEM education and invite more people to experience the organization’s mission firsthand.

Experience and Expertise  

With a career rooted in marketing, communications and nonprofit development, Lisa brings experience in marketing from both the retail and nonprofit sectors, as well as a background in corporate sponsorships, annual giving and major gifts. 

Outside of NDGTS  

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family—including her parents, two children and grandson—and making the most of North Dakota’s outdoors through camping, fishing, hunting and kayaking. She also enjoys the companionship of her dog and cat.

While it’s difficult to choose just one favorite exhibit, Lisa’s pick is the Anatomage Table, which brings the complexity of the human body to life in an incredibly interactive way.
