As one of the Visitor Services Supervisors, Amethyst supports gallery operations, builds connections with visitors, and contributes to the mission through a commitment to guest engagement. 

Impacting the Mission 

Amethyst brings joy, creativity, and endless curiosity to Gateway to Science. Starting as a Visitor Guide, she became known for her welcoming spirit and drive to make all visitors feel comfortable and excited to learn and explore. Today, in her supervisory role, Amethyst continues to create meaningful experiences for guests by fostering connection and bringing a positive energy to the science museum every day. Whether through thoughtful customer service or helping create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment, she contributes to making Gateway to Science a place everyone can belong.  Her passion for people, science, and community shines through in every interaction.

Experience and Expertise  

With a strong background in childcare, Amethyst brings valuable experience in communication, in the moment problem-solving, and creating meaningful experiences for people of all ages. Her work with kids has strengthened her ability to build connections, adapt to different needs, and create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable learning and exploring. She brings that same care and enthusiasm to Gateway to Science, where she enjoys the energy of hands-on learning, connecting to families, and seeing the excitement that comes when visitors discover something new. 

Outside of NDGTS  

Outside of NDGTS, Amethyst enjoys finding new things to learn about and traveling to new places. She can also be found hunting for treasures at thrift stores, making art, and stopping to pet every cat she sees. 

Favorite Exhibit, Event, or Experiment 

Amethyst’s favorite event is Preschool Discovery Hour, helping to introduce little ones to new ideas and watching their faces light up never get old!
