Expectations for Groups & Field Trips
All chaperones must follow expectations and ensure all participants follow expectations. This ensures safety and will make the trip more enjoyable for the entire group.
Chaperone Expectations
- Always stay with field trip participants
Participant Expectations
- Follow directions given by NDGTS staff and the group contact.
- Always walk.
- Keep voices at an indoor, normal conversation level.
- Keep all food and drink in the designated seating area.
- Use exhibits respectfully and responsibly to ensure their safety (e.g., refrain from scratching screens, throwing or forcibly using any exhibit or piece, standing on chairs, etc.)
- Be on time for workshops (if applicable) and departure.
Split groups of 30 or more and take turns on either side of the gallery. Limit the number of participants under age 5 in the Science First area to 20 at a time. Staff may ask visitors to return later if an area becomes too full or may temporarily close it for sanitation.
Failure to follow these expectations may result in meeting with the entire field trip to review the expectations or may result in staff asking the field trip to leave the facility.
