Applied Physics
Recommended for Grades 3-9+
Applied Physics combines units on Simple and Complex Machines and Super Structures.
Simple machines are objects that are used to make work easier; allowing less force to be used, work to be done over a longer distance or for a longer period of time. The simple machines trunk is a K’NEX trunk that introduces the concepts of simple machines to your students. There is information and activities to teach about Levers, Pulleys, Wheels and Axels, Gears and Inclined Planes. The lessons can be used for individual study, small group activity or in teacher-directed instruction and can be adjusted for any time or curriculum requirements.
Super Structures - K’NEX are used to apply principles of physics to build super structures. An educator guide is included with activity guides for each age group. Some of the super structures include: airplane, super chopper, lunar lander, gondola balloon, swings, wind mill, Ferris wheel, motorcycle and pedal bike.
